Streetmosphere

What happens to a place that once bustled with the day-to-day activity of work, economics, and life? Abandoned villages, towns, and cities permeate the US, some stricken by natural disasters, war, or irreversible economic failure. What's left behind are the buildings that once housed the people who breathed life into that town. Knott's Berry Farm sits on what used to be a berry farm, established by Walter Knott.

His interest in American pioneer history fueled the construction of the Ghost Town, using buildings relocated from real Old West towns. Unlike the ghost towns you'll find as you travel across the country, Ghost Town at Knott's Berry Farm is alive with townsfolk that will take you back to the days of the Wild West. During a warm summer Saturday afternoon at the park, we strolled the town to glean insight and secrets from these resident townsfolk.
