Kaprelyan has put Knott’s back on the map, leading the effort to highlight the park’s historic roots. Yes, Knott’s unveiled the critically acclaimed new video-game-meets-thrill-ride, Voyage to the Iron Reef, in May – a move that helped the park set an attendance record for the year. But it’s the way he has reinvigorated the park’s historic attractions like the Timber Mountain Log Ride and the Calico Mine Ride that has set the tone. Knott’s also announced plans for other improvements, including changes to Ghost Town, a park staple since 1941. Many of the wooden mannequins that depict life in the West will be replaced with role-playing employees.
