Voyage to the Iron Reef opening date!
Voyage to the Iron Reef will open to the public on May 15th 2015. No word yet on pass holder previews and such but I expect something as early as April (some of the articles written back when the attraction was announced were hinting at a March opening date). Stay tuned for more information!
UPDATE: Media Preview announced for May 13th 2015 and the educational Voyage Day announced for May 14th 2015
UPDATE: Media Preview announced for May 13th 2015 and the educational Voyage Day announced for May 14th 2015
At the Voyage Day Event, junior high and high school students will learn what it takes to create a 3-D and 4-D ride, as well as discover how their interests in arts, digital technology or engineering can lead to exciting careers. School groups will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to preview the all new Voyage to the Iron Reef attraction before it opens to the public, followed by an in-depth presentation from the innovative minds of Triotech, the creative forces behind Knott’s Berry Farm’s new state-of-the-art ride.

Petition: Soundtrack Release for Knott's Bear-y Tales Ride
While the old ride has been gone for a long time, I think it would be wise to release the audio of the ride after 40 years. Not only would it benefit the fans, but for the preservation of the park's history for enjoyment of the public. Knott's Bear-y Tales had an interesting soundtrack that stood out above every Theme Park Attraction. It was eccentric, strange, and kooky in helping compliment the surreal atmosphere of this wonderful ride that took you past the blacklit environments in a fantastic journey. A journey that many people still talk about from that year it was conceived in 1975 to it's end in 1986. If a release were to happen, It would be wise to honor what could have been the Ride's 40th Anniversary to justify it's existence. Bear-y Tales was a very unique Dark Ride and what better way to honor it would be a release of the audio!

Knott's News: Well, you might as well sign it, although I don't know what good it will do. I feel like if anything, Knott's will make some tracks available online for free (like how Cedar Point released Millennium Force's station music and the Paramount Parks released a crap ton of park music) but I don't anticipate a full soundtrack release, which is a shame but understandable. The most I see happening is some kind of digital distribution.
To be fair, historically, not even Disney or Universal makes entire ride soundtracks available but has instead stuck to park complications, parade and event music. Granted, Disney in the past made a ton of their audio available through the Walt Disney World Forever CD Creation System, which was something you'll never see again and the rest comes from leaks and in-park recordings (induction recordings can be indistinguishable from source). I'm only saying this to keep expectations in check (remember that feeling when Voyage to the Iron Reef was announced and not Knott's Bear-y Tales 2.0), not to discourage people from signing the petition.
Please, sign it and let Knott's / Cedar Fair know that their is a demand for this stuff. I would most definitely settle for a park compilation - possibly featuring Kevin Nadeau's Kingdom of the Dinosaurs score, Bill Reyes' re-created Calico Mine Ride cavern music, Jim Lang's Mystery Lodge score, etc. - should they feel the need to test the waters and would be all over a Knott's Bear-y Tales standalone soundtrack release should it happen.

Rumor: Voyage to the Iron Reef to feature indoor queue above Johnny Rockets
Well this has been speculation for awhile, that Voyage to the Iron Reef would feature an indoor queue, but most people assumed that it would go where the laser tag currently is. If this rumor is to be believed, than the new indoor queue will be located right above Johnny Rocket's where Frog Forest in Knott's Bear-y Tales used to be. This is also where we've seen a lot of duct work happening with the AC units.
Previously I was hearing of an indoor queue with some sort of pre-show being on the bottom floor. Maybe the queue occupies both areas? Maybe none of this is accurate? As always, this is a rumor, so don't believe anything until Knott's confirms it.

Knott’s Berry Farm – 01/12/2015
Okay… now that we’ve done our booby today for the day, let’s move on to thing for you, the boobs who read this site. Rides ‘n’ stuff. There are rides and stuffs at Knott’s Berry Farm and it’s super serious business. Because huzzah. That’s why. So just a general reminder though… if you’re a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, turd of a human and didn’t see the piece on Knott’s and Komen for The Cure, you need to click that link and stop being a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, turd of a human. Because while you run around Knott’s Berry Farm, stuffing your face with funnel takes, burgers and those amazing friggin’ fries from Fiesta Village… AT THE SAME TIME… you can actually help someone else, ya flippin’ boob! (As you can see, today is turning out booberific.)

Knotts Berry Farm is Pretty in Pink
Today we bring news from Knotts Berry Farm. As the Christmas elements are removed from the park, maintenance and plans for the upcoming year move in. To start the year off, Knott’s has again partnered with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer awareness by offering special tickets and merchandise. Next up we’ll stroll the park to check up on how Knott’s is taking advantage of the “off-season”. The Timber Mountain Log Ride is down for an annual maintenance program while La Revelucion, in Fiesta Village, is still down months later. Thankfully Ghost Town is in wonderful shape after the holidays and Bigfoot Rapids is back up and running, despite the cooler weather. We also take a look at the Fool’s Gold Stunt Show in Ghost Town’s Wagon Camp Theatre and hope for better things to come. Who’s ready for a trip to the farm?

Knott's Berry Farm preserves now made by Linn's in Cambria
The next time you travel south to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park and sample some of its syrups and preserves, think about this: What you’re tasting comes from right up the road in Cambria.
John Linn, owner of Linn’s, has been supplying Knott’s with a growing number of preserves and syrups for about a year now, he said Thursday, in an exclusive deal that has led to a big production increase for the family-run Cambria business.

Knott’s Berry Farm – 01/05/2014
FIRST UPDATE OF THE NEW YEAR!!! FIRST UPDATE… wait… why does this feel familiar? Anyway… we’re here. See, last week we went from Wednesday to Thursday and everyone went nuts with enthusiasm and optimism and made silly resolutions that they would and/or would not do certain things because we went from Wednesday to Thursday. Humanity… we are weird. I propose a better solution… just do stuff. If you like it: do it. If you don’t like it: don’t do it. Don’t need a date on a calendar to remind you what you should and shouldn’t do…
So we’re back now with Knott’s Berry Farm… breaking what might be a 2 or 3 year streak of the first update being from Universal Studios Hollywood. Crazy, huh? Yes, back to Knott’s after needing to get back on that horse now that all the theme park hipster kids are like “OMG KNOTT’S IS AWESOME”… and it’s like “Yeah, Junior… we get it… you just left mommy and daddy’s house for the first time and got to see that magazine your friend’s uncle hid under the mattress.” Seriously. It’s cute. So we’re back to Knott’s to see what’s up… let’s get to it.
